The Hitch-N-Ditch was created by Chris Montgomery an electrician in Northwest Florida for over 25 years. In his business he had the opportunity to bury PVC piping and direct burial wire almost daily. With the sandy conditions in Florida the ditch has to be nearly as wide as it is deep in order to keep it from caving in. The original design was a furrow that could be pulled behind a four-wheel drive truck. Using different blade angles to leave an open ditch behind, he thought if he could only pull the pipe in as he went along. He then attached a continuous length of pipe or wire to the back of the blade and as he drove, the blade cut through and buried the pipe and did not remove any dirt from the ditched area. This allowed the grass and soil to return to normal and the pipe is left buried. When we first began using the tool on actual job sites, we noticed that it draws so much attention and are told over and over "What a great idea!". It really works well in sandy soil, light clay filled job sites and non-rocky terrain. |
Hitch-N-Ditch will quickly save you man hours, complete your site work in record time, and help make your business more cost effective. Bottom line, Hitch-N-Ditch will pay for itself on your first job! |
